Crisis of Belief
The Narrow Path That Few Find and Fewer Follow
2nd Edition Book Foreword

There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold – though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
~1 Peter 1:6–7
Have you ever faced a crisis of belief on your faith journey of following Jesus? A similar term one might use to describe a crisis of belief is a test of faith.
In this autobiography, James shares many of his tests of faith which set him up for several inspired God encounters, resulting in supernatural covenant provision and miracles. A true page-turner, you may find yourself rushing through the story, eager to find out what happens next. I encourage you, however, to take your time to read through it again, the second time to focus on a unique feature in this book—rich and inspiring Scripture references at the end of each of the forty chapters. I propose you consider taking a 40-day journey, using this book as a devotional, to digest and assimilate every verse more fully as it relates to your own personal walk with the Lord.
In Luke 9:23, Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” James shares his journey of taking to heart these words of Jesus. Every disciple of Christ will experience a crisis of belief at various times; indeed, for our faith to be proven genuine it must be tried by fire and purified like gold.
After reading this autobiography, the one word that I believe best describes James’ faith journey is perseverance, which reminds me of the story in the Bible about the persistent widow. In this story, the widow’s persistence proved her unrelenting faith. At the end of the story, Jesus states, “When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” The challenge set before each of us is whether or not we will and dare to walk down the path of genuine and proven faith that few follow.

About the Author

James is a forerunner for Christ and a trail blazer for our generation. Like King David, he is “A Man After God’s Own Heart.” His authentic and transparent testimony, from serving the devil to serving Jesus, will keep you reading his books until the end.

The Lord separated James on April 5th, 2003 to become a special witness to verify God’s amazing grace and truth. Everything that defined James perception of himself was stripped away. Suddenly and passionately, God’s calling became an all-consuming fire that began to mold, shape, and redefine the new person that James was becoming. Once James recognized his Savior, he counted the cost, burned his bridges, put his hand to the plow, and by the power of God’s grace, James has never looked back. His treasures are now stored up in heaven and his life is hidden in Christ.

James has served under churches and para-church ministries, participated in Kairos and Bill Glass prison ministries, he was ordained apostolically, started ministries, led hundreds of people to Christ, wrote two books which thousands have read and he spends exuberant amounts of time and energy discipling people daily through his personal Facebook page that reaches over four thousand five hundred people.

The biggest challenges that James faced is when God called him to put together a unity festival targeting six-hundred church and para-church ministries that made up The Greater Austin Community, which back then had not been done before.

The biggest joy James experienced was when God led him to become an Executive TV Producer, of five weekly Christian TV Show, which had never been done before.

The biggest miracle is that James gave away everything that he owned, preaches the gospel for free, offers his books for free, and pours himself into others without any compensation and very little support from Churches.

James biggest surprise is that God has moved him around twelves times, in fifteen years (2003-2018). Ten of those moves were provisional moves around the Greater Austin area. Twice God moved James to different states. In 2011, The Lord brought James back to Austin to write two books and serve in various other capacities which also included serving as a pastor at the Crisis Center.
